Slow-Cooker Breakfast Options

Slow cookers cut down on morning preparations, and you can use them to make a wide variety of wonderful breakfast items. Following are just five of the many ways that residents of our apartments in Atlanta can wake up in the morning to something delicious that's ready and waiting to be enjoyed. 

Crock-Pot Oatmeal

This option combines steel-cut oats, your choice of milk or water, as well as cinnamon, walnuts and any dried berries you may want to add. Blueberries and cranberries are both excellent choices. You can also choose to replace the water or milk with apple juice for a different — but delicious — twist. Adding freshly sliced apples right when the oatmeal is ready to eat makes an excellent finishing touch. 

Crock-Pot Apple Butter

Sliced apples sprinkled with cinnamon transforms into apple butter when cooked low and slow overnight. Slather it on toast, an English muffin or pancakes for a fabulous morning treat. 

Crock-Pot Breakfast Casserole

Crock-Pot breakfast casseroles are a great option when you've got several people to feed. Combine sausage, beaten eggs, milk and chunks of bread in your slow cooker and season lightly with sage and dried mustard. All you'll have to do in the morning is scoop the casserole onto plates and enjoy. 

Crock-Pot Cinnamon Rolls

These taste as if they were prepared by a top-notch pastry chef who spent hours making them perfect, but they're actually as easy as pie. You'll need pastry flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, eggs and sugar. Adding a little maple syrup to the mix provides extra interest. You can top the rolls with cream cheese frosting and a sprinkling of pecans or almonds for a finishing touch.

Crock-Pot Breakfast Burritos

Everyone loves breakfast burritos, but not everyone loves going to the trouble of preparing them in the morning. To make them, simply put your favorite burrito ingredients such as sausage, eggs, frozen hash browns, onions and peppers in your slow cooker, and let it do its magic overnight.
